Man, 25, arrested over stabbing in Yishun

A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing another man with a knife at Yishun Street 31.

The police said in a statement on Sunday evening (Oct 3) that they were alerted to the case at 11.40pm.

The victim suffered lacerations to his chest and shoulder, and was conscious when taken to hospital.

The assailant had fled the scene before police arrived.

Officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him within six hours of the reported crime.

He will be charged in court on Monday (Oct 4) with voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon.

The offence carries a jail term of up to seven years, or a fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.
