A lorry sideswiped a motorcycle in Woodlands, causing minor injuries to the motorcyclist and pillion rider on Sunday afternoon (Oct 16).

In a dash cam video shared by Stomper Leslie, the motorcycle can be seen riding along Woodlands Avenue 7 towards the Woodlands Avenue 4 traffic light junction with the light in its favour.

The lorry was in the rightmost lane behind a bus waiting to turn right when the lorry driver suddenly drove across three lanes to make a left turn.

Caught by surprise, the motorcycle could not stop in time and the lorry sideswiped the bike, pushing the motorcyclist and pillion rider onto the ground.

"I think both the rider and pillion suffered light injuries because their speed was not so fast." said the Stomper.

"I felt shocked and angry at the lorry driver. If the motorcycle was faster, most probably they would have been killed."

In response to a Stomp query, police said they were alerted to the accident at about 2.50pm.

"A 69-year-old motorcyclist and his 64-year-old female pillion sustained minor injuries and refused conveyance," said police.

The 78-year-old male lorry driver is assisting with police investigations, which are ongoing.

Last month, Stomp reported that a 60-year-old woman was taken to hospital after an accident involving an e-bike at the same Woodlands junction.
