A woman was seen riding a hoverboard with a young girl at a pedestrian crossing near Newton Food Centre on Nov 3 at about 6.15pm.

A Stomper shared with Stomp a video of the woman making her way across the road with the girl on board.

In the video, the girl is seen standing on the woman's feet and the woman is holding onto her with just one arm as her other hand is holding a water bottle.

At the end of the video, a voice is heard saying 'cool'.

However, one has to question whether this is safe, especially considering neither the woman nor the child are wearing helmets.

If we look back at 2016 when hoverboards were all the rage in Singapore, there were also several reports of accidents involving the devices.

Madam Ho Ching, wife of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, injured her elbow in a hoverboard accident in February 2016.

There were also reports of hoverboards catching fire.

Singapore Airlines, along with top American airlines, banned hoverboards on all of its flights.
