Fire breaks out at shophouse kitchen along Ophir Road

A fire occurred in a shophouse located along Ophir Road at about 12pm today (Jul 25).

Stomper Noraini, who was driving past the area, shared photos of the incident that were taken by her colleague.

Several Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) vehicles are seen at the scene.

A few SCDF personnel are also seen perched on an elevated extension while attempting to put out the flames.

In response to a Stomp query, the SCDF said that it was alerted to a fire incident at 16 Bali Lane at about 11.35am.

"The fire, which involved contents of a shophouse kitchen, was extinguished by SCDF using two water jets," said the spokesman.

"There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation."
