A fire broke out in a Indonesian restaurant along Pahang Street on Tuesday afternoon (Apr 4).

Stompers Robert and ET shared videos of the incident and said it occurred at Sari Ratu Padang Indonesian Restaurant at 20 Pahang Street.

Responding to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at around 2.05pm.

The fire, which involved the contents of a kitchen on the first floor and a storeroom on the second floor of a two-storey shophouse, was extinguished by SCDF using two water jets.

Seven people evacuated from the affected unit before SCDF's arrival and there were no reported injuries.

Stomper Sim Seng shared photos of thick smoke billowing from the building.

She said: "We could see thick billowing smoke coming from the row of restaurants along Pahang Street. It looked very serious as the smoke blew to Beach Road!"

According to Robert, SCDF left the scene at around 4pm.

The cause of fire is under investigation.
