Car tailgates another vehicle out of Clementi carpark to avoid parking charges, nearly gets hit by barrier

A white Volkswagen Jetta tailgated another vehicle out of a Clementi Avenue 2 carpark in the morning allegedly to avoid overnight parking charges.

Stomper Vann shared rear dash cam video of the Jetta following closely behind the Stomper's vehicle as the Stomper drove out of the carpark on March 31 at 7:15am.

After the automatic barrier was lifted to allow the Stomper to exit, the barrier came down and almost hit the Jetta before the barrier went up again, letting the Jetta follow the Stomper out of the carpark.

"Not a season parking holder, but parked whole night yet couldn't afford to pay carpark fee and tailgated out," said the Stomper.

The carpark is part of Night Parking Scheme, where short-term parking charges are capped at $5 per night from 10:30pm to 7:00am on the following day.
