Members of the public helped put out a vehicle fire in a Yishun condo carpark on the eve of Chinese New Year.

Stomper Ah Boy shared a photo showing three fire engines outside North Park Residences, which is a condo integrated with Northpoint City.

He wondered: "What happened?"

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to a fire at 31 Yishun Central 1 on Jan 21 at about 5:40pm.

"The fire involved the interior of a car at the third-level carpark. Members of the public extinguished the fire using eight dry-powder fire extinguishers," said SCDF.

"There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation."

A TikTok video posted on Jan 21 by topdips.sg shows firefighters examining the front of a black car with its hood open as water poured from the ceiling on a white car next to it in a carpark.
