Car ends up in drain after accident with taxi at Bukit Timah junction, both drivers injured

A car ended up in a drain after an accident with a taxi at the junction of Queen's Road and Lutheran Road in Bukit Timah late Tuesday night (April 25).

Stomper Shim shared photos of the accident showing the Hyundai car at the bottom of the canal and a blue Hyundai ComfortDelgro taxi with a damaged left front fender.

"The private car ended up in the monsoon drain. An ambulance and the police were at the scene. It did not look like there were any serious injuries," said the Stomper.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 11.42pm.

"A 65-year-old male taxi driver sustained minor injuries but refused conveyance. A 56-year-old male car driver was conveyed conscious to the hospital," said police.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force told Stomp the car driver was taken to National University Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The Stomper added: "I did the most Singaporean thing the next day, but I didn't win."
