Car catches fire after loud 'bang' along Tampines Avenue 1

A car caught fire along Tampines Avenue 1 on Friday night (Dec 17).

Stomper Mark alerted Stomp to the fire and shared with Stomp a video of Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers arriving on the scene.

"The white car's engine stopped and a loud bang was heard," said Mark.

"The engine caught fire."

In response to a Stomp query, the SCDF said they were alerted to the fire at 9.20pm.

"The fire involved the engine compartment of a car," an SCDF spokesman confirmed.

"SCDF extinguished the fire using two water jets."

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
