It was not what it seemed.

The police were called by a 7-Eleven staff member who was concerned for the safety of a boy with special needs.

Stomper Raven shared a video showing the police with the boy in a red shirt outside the convenience store at Block 446 Bukit Batok West Avenue 8 on April 7 at around 6.30pm.

"We thought maybe the boy was running from some kind of trouble like he took something out of the store without paying," recounted the Stomper.

"But thankfully, afterwards we came to know that the person actually wanted to buy some Pokemon cards. The staff at the store was worried about him and did not want him to get hurt."

So the staff member called the police for assistance.

"She was grateful to the man and woman in blue that the boy was in good hands," said the Stomper. "Earlier, he had turned away a few customers."

"I also want to thank the staff for going the extra mile, showing care for the young boy and watching over his well-being. The boy seemed to be lost. All handed the situation well."

The Stomper added that after escorting the boy away, the police returned to the store at 7pm to follow up with the staff member.

Stomp has contacted the police for more info and understands the boy got home safely.
