Nine cars and a motorcycle were involved in an accident on Pan-Island Expressway heading towards Tuas after the Whitley Road exit at around 5pm on March 2.
In response to a Stomp query, the police said a 59-year-old male driver and his 59-year-old female passenger were conscious when taken to the hospital.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force told Stomp they were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and another three people were assessed for minor injuries but declined to be sent to the hospital.
A video of the accident's aftermath was posted online showing the pile-up and the traffic jam it caused.

At 5.49pm, the Land Transport Authority tweeted that the congestion extended to the Central Expressway exit.
