An 84-year-old man was taken to hospital after he got into an accident with a car while riding his personal mobility device (PMD) in Sembawang.

Stomper Jeg said the accident occurred at the junction of Durban Road and Sembawang Road on Monday (July 24), at around 9.15am

He recounted: "The elderly man was knocked down by a car that was exiting Durban Road. He suffered injuries, but was fortunately brought to hospital soon thereafter."

The Stomper said: "Special mention to Mr Vinod, an operations officer who sprinted to the accident spot from HEB-Ashram Halfway House, which is a stone's throw away.

"He rendered help to both the car owner and the elderly man, called the ambulance and informed the victim's family."

Photos taken by Jeg show paramedics attending to the PMD rider.
