33-year-old man arrested for allegedly molesting woman at Bedok Reservoir Road

A 33-year-old man who allegedly molested a woman along Bedok Reservoir Road was arrested less than five hours after the police were alerted to the case.

The police said they were alerted to the incident involving the 33-year-old victim on Monday (Nov 4), at around 7.30pm.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the man's identity and nabbed him on Tuesday (Nov 5), at around 12.05am.

Investigations are ongoing.

The offence of outrage of modesty carries a jail term of up to two years and/or caning and/or a fine.

The police also advised members of the public to adopt the following preventive measures:

• Be aware of your surroundings and stay alert to any suspicious person(s);

• Avoid walking through dimly-lit and secluded places or whenever possible, avoid taking the lift with suspicious person(s), if alone; and

• Carry along with you a shrill alarm.
