They were just minding their own business.

Three men were enjoying an early morning meal in an otherwise deserted Ang Mo Kio coffee shop when two other men came up to them and suddenly started hitting them with the plastic chairs in the coffee shop.

A video circulating online shows that in the middle of the assault, one of the victims was sitting on the floor when an assailant brutally kicked him in the head, causing him to fall backwards and stop moving.

After hitting the men with the chairs for more than a minute, the two assailants walked away.

The time code on the CCTV footage indicates that it was recorded just after 4am on Sunday (Oct 9).

Another video taken after the incident shows blood on the floor and a toppled chair. Food was spilled and a table was overturned. Police officers were at the coffee shop.

In response to a Stomp query, police said they were alerted to a fight along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 on Oct 9 at 4.15am.

"Three men, aged between 51 to 58, were conscious when conveyed to the hospital," said police.

Investigations are ongoing.
