2 men arrested for voluntarily causing hurt after 1 found injured at Chai Chee HDB block

Two men, aged 57 and 61, have been arrested for their suspected involvement in a case of vountarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon at Chai Chee Road.

The police said in a statement that they were alerted on Sunday (Apr 5) at about 5.15pm to a man who was found to be injured at the void deck of a Housing Board block along Chai Chee Road.

"The 61-year-old man was conveyed to conscious to Changi General Hospital," the statement said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the injured man is believed to have been in a fight with another man and both parties were injured.

Officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the other party, a 57-year-old man, and arrested him within three hours on the same day.

The 61-year-old man was also subsequently arrested.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Anyone found guilty of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon with common intention can be jailed for up to seven years, or fined, or caned, or any combination of such punishments.
