2 grenades, 314 small arms ammunition successfully disposed of at Sengkang construction site

Two grenades and 314 small arms ammunition found at a construction site at 10 Sengkang Central were successfully disposed of in the early hours of Wednesday morning (Mar 11).

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos of police vehicles at the construction site for the upcoming Sengkang Grand Residences condominium.

"It appeared that unknown objects were found at the worksite on Monday night (Mar 9)," she said.

"I heard a loud detonation-like sound at about 1am on Tuesday (Mar 10) and again at around the same time on Wednesday (Mar 11)."

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the discovery of the grenades and small arms ammunitions on Monday at about 9.15am.

"The Singapore Armed Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal team successfully disposed of them onsite on Wednesday (Mar 11) at about 1am," a police spokesman said.
