18-year-old teen arrested for shop theft at Woodlands supermarket

An 18-year-old teenager was arrested after allegedly stealing from a supermarket in Woodlands on Saturday afternoon (May 16).

Stomper Randy alerted Stomp to photos of the arrest that have been circulating online.

In response to Stomp queries, the police said they were alerted to a case of shop theft at Block 785E Woodlands Rise at 12.31pm and arrested the teenager in relation to the case.

An employee at the supermarket told Shin Min Daily News: "The teenager did not struggle when police arrested him, so other customers were not alarmed by the incident."

However, the employee said he did not have further details about what happened.

Police investigations are ongoing.
