Man, 24, arrested for allegedly snatching woman's purse in Jurong West

A 24-year-old man who allegedly snatched a woman's purse along Jurong West Street 42 was arrested on the same day (Sep 30).

The police had received a report about the case at around 2.50pm.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the man's identity and arrested him within four hours of the report.

The man was charged in court on Saturday with snatch theft, which carries a jail term between one and seven years with caning.
