A 29-year-old man was arrested for snatch theft after he made off with $30,000 worth of cash during a business meeting at Syed Alwi Road.
The police were alerted to the case on December 12, at around 1.30am, about how a man had purportedly snatched the cash from another man.
Preliminary investigations revealed that both men are known to each other and allegedly met at Syed Alwi Road for a business-related transaction.
Through ground enquiries and extensive follow-up investigations, officers from Central Police Division established the identity the suspect's identity and arrested him along Scotts Road on Thursday (Dec 17).
The man was charged in court on Saturday with snatch theft, which carries a jail term between one and seven years, and caning.
