53-year-old lorry driver dies in accident with car at Bukit Batok

A 53-year-old lorry driver was killed after a collision with an oncoming car along Bukit Batok East Avenue 5 on Saturday afternoon (March 24).

Responding to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 2.33pm.

The male lorry driver was unconscious when conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim suffered from a traumatic cardiac arrest, reported The Straits Times.

Police investigations are ongoing.

According to ST, the lorry had stopped on the road, and other motorists sounded their horns at the driver.

As he started to move off, his vehicle veered right into a lane with oncoming traffic, before colliding with a black car.
