A man was spotted making himself at home at an alfresco restaurant in Cuppage Terrace after closing time and sleeping there.

Stomper J shared photos of the shirtless man sitting alone in the Mexican restaurant at 12.30am.

The restaurant, which is called Hola! Mexico, opens from noon to 10.30pm.

"After waiting for the outlet to close, he would 'patronise' by bringing his cardboard bed and pairing it with his basic 'old uncle' remedies: Vaseline cream, some old-school Axe oil and a plastic bag," said the Stomper, describing how the "uncle" would start preparing his "master bedroom suite" from midnight onwards.

"He's quite 'atas', even putting his slippers on the restaurant chair. He would take the sofa because that is how life should be, a nice, soft cushioned bed to sleep on. He would sleep topless."

The Stomper said he had seen the uncle there for a week.

"It's an open-air self-made personal space/room? I don't know. Restaurant, please start asking uncle to pay rent. He sleeps well."

Stomp has contacted Hola! Mexico for more info.
