Tree that fell on vehicles at Tampines carpark removed by town council

A tree fell on vehicles parked at a Housing Board (HDB) carpark in Tampines on a rainy Thursday (June 4).

The incident occurred at Block 139 Tampines Street 11 at around 5pm. No one was injured.

Stomper Amy shared photos of the fallen tree, which appeared to have been uprooted in a heavy downpour.

A silver van and a red car were among the vehicles that the tree had fallen on.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for Tampines Town Council said it was alerted to the incident and a horticulture contractor was activated to the scene immediately to remove the fallen tree and debris.

The spokesman added: "No one was hurt in the incident.

"Our horticulture team and contractor's arborist will be assessing the other trees in the vicinity to check the trees’ health and will take the necessary actions to prevent a repeat occurrence."
