Huge tree falls onto car along Scotts Road in front of Grand Hyatt hotel

A large tree fell across Scotts Road and onto a car along Scotts Road, in front of the Grand Hyatt Singapore hotel on Wednesday afternoon (Nov 20).

Several Stompers alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos and videos.

The tree fell during a bout of heavy afternoon at about 3pm.

It also obstructed four lanes of the road, preventing traffic from passing through.

Police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers were spotted at the scene.

In one of the videos, members of the public are seen carrying branches away from the fallen tree.

According to The Straits Times, two lanes were opened to traffic at about 4pm. The area where the tree had fallen was cordoned off and the car was no longer under the tree.
