Traffic Police officer taken to hospital after accident with car along BKE

A 36-year-old Traffic Police (TP) officer was injured after an accident involving his motorcycle and a car along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on Wednesday morning (May 10).

A Stomper forwarded a video circulating on WhatsApp of the accident that happened after the Mandai Road exit towards the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE).

In the video, the officer is seen sitting on the ground and covering his face with his hands as another TP officer stands over him.

Blood is seen on the road as well as debris from the motorcycle.

A white Mitsubishi car is seen pulled over with a damaged rear.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 7.05am.

"A 36-year-old male police officer was conveyed conscious to the hospital," a police spokesman said.

Police investigations are ongoing.
