Thief 'die die' pulls $69.90 bag from AMK Hub store rack until he almost falls down

The bag was tied to a rack at the store, but that did not stop a man from stealing it.

Stomper Anon shared CCTV footage showing the man stealing a $69.90 backpack from his store at AMK Hub shopping mall's Basement 1 level on Tuesday (May 2), at around 7.40pm.

Anon said that staff were present at the store during the incident, but they only learnt of the theft after noticing that the display item was missing.

In CCTV footage of the incident, the man can be seen approaching the store and looking at the items on display.

He then reaches for a bag placed at the top and forcefully tugs at it. The bag is subsequently shown to be tied to the rack with a string, which the man continues pulling until it breaks and the bag comes off.

The man loses his footing in the process, then leaves while admiring his loot.

Anon told Stomp: "The incident left me fuming. We tied the display item to avoid having it stolen, but he die die pulled it until nearly he nearly fell down. It's so ridiculous because there were so many people walking by."

The Stomper has also lodged a police report and said police officers came down to his store afterwards.
