A 100kg World War II bomb that was found at a construction site at Upper Bukit Timah was detonated by the Singapore Armed Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal team on Tuesday (Sept 26).

Stomper Eileen shared with Stomp video clips of her terrapin reacting to the detonation in her home at 25A Hazel Park Terrace.

"The first and second blasts 'spooked' my terrapin," she said.

"Demonstrative power of the blast."

In the footage, the reptile is seen retreating into its shell before diving into the water after both blasts.

More than 4,000 residents within a 200km radius of the construction site were evacuated before the detonation.

Some residents reported slight damage at their homes following the blast which could be heard from as far as 2km away.

The war relic was not the largest bomb that the Ministry of Defence has handled.

In 2016, a 227kg unexploded aerial bomb was disposed of by the army in Pulau Senang.
