Things could have gone very wrong after a stray dog suddenly dashed across the road, but fortunately, motorists managed to stop in time and avoid a collision.

The incident occurred along Yio Chu Kang Road, towards Upper Thomson Road, at around 7.40am last Thursday (Nov 29).

Stomper Chia, who was riding her motorcycle, contributed a video of the close shave that she had.

She told Stomp: "The stray dog dashed across the road, causing at least three vehicles (including me) to jam on our brakes.

"I was shocked. At first, I didn't know why the car in front stopped. Then I saw the dog.

"I would like to share this as a reminder to always keep a distance (and follow the speed limit), be aware of your surroundings and ensure you get proper brakes, not those cheapo ones.

"Don't risk your safety! Ride and drive safe, guys.

"I'm glad nothing happened to the poor dog!"
