Rat falls from ceiling, drags its broken hind legs across floor in Bukit Panjang hawker centre

A rat fell from the ceiling in Bukit Panjang Hawker Center and Market on Jan 30 at around 5am.

Stomper Raven shared a video showing the rodent dragging its broken hind legs across the floor of the mostly deserted hawker centre.

"The rat was injured and moving very slowly under the table near a chair in an open area," recounted the Stomper, who was on his way to buy breakfast.

He said only a few stalls were open at the time as it was very early in the morning.

"It reminded me of what happened last year in November when a rat fell from the ceiling onto a tray in Tangs Market at Orchard Road. The food on the table went to waste!"

The Stomper added that he had reported the incident to the authorities.

On the NEA website, Bukit Panjang Hawker Center and Market is listed as being scheduled to be closed for cleaning on Feb 26 and 27.
