A leaky pipe led to some minor "flooding" inside Sengkang MRT station on Sunday (July 9).

Stomper Johnny shared a video of water raining down from the ceiling with the affected area being cordoned off.

"Smelly dirty water leaking at Sengkang MRT station," he said.

Sharing a video of station staff members working to clear away the water on the floor, Stomper Ronald said: "Hi, would like to report flooding at Sengkang station."

In response to a Stomp query, SBS Transit spokesman Grace Wu said: “A section of the boarding platform at the Sengkang station was wet due to a leak in the drainage pipe which started at about 5.35pm on Sunday afternoon.

"We quickly cordoned off the affected areas and deployed additional staff to guide and assist our passengers while cleaners worked hard to dry up the area.

"We have since rectified the leak and apologise to affected passengers for the inconvenience caused.”

Last week, another Stomper reported "raining in the MRT" and SBS Transit apologised for water leakage on board the train due to a component failure in the air-conditioning system on July 4.
