Pedestrian bleeds from her nose and mouth after getting hit by van in Jurong

A 34-year-old woman was taken to hospital after getting hit by a van while she was crossing the road in Jurong on Tuesday morning (July 25).

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at the junction of Jurong East Avenue 1 and Jurong Town Hall Road at 7.55am.

The pedestrian was conscious when taken to National University Hospital.

A 59-year-old male van driver is assisting with investigations.

A witness told Shin Min Daily News that he saw the van turning right at the junction when it hit the woman, who was crossing the road. The traffic lights were green for both parties when the accident occurred.

The woman then fell to the ground. She appeared to be seriously injured and was bleeding from both her nose and mouth.

The van driver and a motorcyclist immediately went to check on her, while the witness called an ambulance.

Police investigations are ongoing.
