Pedestrian, 13, and motorcyclist, 24, taken to hospital after accident in Ang Mo Kio

A 24-year-old motorcyclist and a 13-year-old pedestrian were taken to hospital after they got into an accident along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 on the night of Oct 29.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 8.39pm.

The female motorcyclist and teenage boy were conscious when taken to hospital.

A Stomper, who is a friend of the motorcyclist, said the accident took place near bus stop 54339.

Appealing for witnesses to the accident, the Stomper said: "The pedestrian failed to check for oncoming vehicles and dashed across the road, causing the accident and resulting in my friend who was riding a bike to skid.

"My friend suffered superficial abrasions on the arms and legs, and the bike is in a bad condition.

"The pedestrian, who is 13 years old, was not with his parents and decided to dash across the stretch of road where there are few pedestrian crossings available.

"My friend mentioned that a few vehicles which were travelling in same direction had stopped to help for awhile and are willing to assist by sending the in-car camera footage of what happened."

Police investigations are ongoing.
