A pet owner is offering a $3,000 reward for the safe return of his beloved African Grey parrot.

Stomper Kenneth said the bird, named Smokey, went missing from Block 8 Lorong 7 Toa Payoh on Apr 14 at 10.30am.

He later found the parrot's broken chain near the Singapore Press Holdings building at Toa Payoh North while searching for it.

He added that the parrot had two leg rings and a bird leash attached to it when it broke free.

"I am very worried about its safety, whether it is still outside or flown into someone's house," he said.

"I have tried to paste posters in Toa Payoh, Bishan and Thomson.

"Hopefully, it didn't fly over to MacRitchie.

"Please help."
