An off-service SBS Transit bus turned into the motorcycle lane at Woodlands Checkpoint by mistake, disrupting traffic for about 45 minutes on Nov 25 evening.

Sharing a video of the incident, Stomper Raven said the delay started at around 7pm.

Photos were also posted on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page.

The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) posted on Facebook on Nov 25 at 7pm that traffic was disrupted due to an incident involving a public bus entering the wrong lane.

In response to a Stomp query, SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu said that one of its off-service buses was headed towards the Seletar Bus Depot when the driver missed the exit to the Seletar Expressway and continued along the Bukit Timah Expressway that led to the Woodlands Checkpoint.

"Unfortunately, he took the wrong lane meant for motorcycles and could not change course when he realised his mistake," said Ms Wu.

"We thank the ICA officers on the ground for helping our staff to manoeuvre his way out of the lane and deeply apologise to affected motorcyclists for the inconvenience caused."
