A man caught the attention of his fellow commuters by sitting on a bicycle in an MRT train cabin.

Stomper Lau Lau alerted Stomp to a video posted on Tiagong's Facebook page.

It is unclear whether the man is sitting astride a foldable bicycle or e-bike.

While some netizens questioned how the man was allowed to board the train with his bike, others said the cabin did not appear to be crowded and that the rider was doing no harm because he wasn't blocking anyone.

According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA), personal mobility devices are allowed on board trains and buses as long as they do not exceed the allowable size dimensions of 120cm by 70cm by 40cm, and do not cause any inconvenience to other commuters.

An example of an allowable device is a foldable bicycle with 20-inch wheels and dimensions of 80cm by 65cm by 30cm.

Commuters should keep their devices folded at all times and should hold their devices so that they do not block doors and pathways.

Commuters are also not allowed to ride their devices in train stations or bus interchanges.

Those who do not comply with the rules can face enforcement action and be fined up to $500.
