They did it for the Year of the Tiger.

The residents of Block 219 Bishan Street 23 were at it again for the Year of the Rabbit.

A total of 44 households contributed to the Chinese New Year decorations at the block this year, up from 24 last year.

"This year's decorations were set up last Saturday afternoon (Jan 14) with improvements over the past two nights." said Stomper KG, who is part of the organising team.

"The design and sourcing were done mainly by a family on the 10th floor. We also have a lady from the sixth floor contributing two sets of New Year couplets. The suggestion for a photo corner was from two residents.

"We have three to four good photo corners. So far, we have many residents, those from neighbouring blocks and visitors coming to take photos, including with their children.

"More than a dozen children from our block's pre-school queued up to take their photo one by one. Their smiles make our day, and all our efforts were worth it."

Other residents appreciated the result with one commenting: "Wow. We passed by this morning. Kudos to the ladies and their resourcefulness! Pity we couldn’t help out. They must be tired!"
