A Mercedes-Benz car ended up on the pavement after skidding and crashing into a road sign in Yishun on Tuesday morning (July 4).

Stompers Mira and Saravanan alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos of the scene.

"There was a loud crash at about 6am," said Mira.

"Upon checking, a black Mercedes was seen having crashed into a street sign and onto the pavement.

"The driver managed to come out from his car and it seems like he was the only one in the car.

"At around 6.30am an ambulance arrived at the scene and two Traffic Police (TP) bikes joined afterwards.

"Not exactly sure what caused the accident but hopefully the driver is ok and no one else got hurt."

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 6.05am.

The car is believed to have self-skidded at the junction of Yishun Street 44 and Yishun Street 42, a spokesman said.

No injuries were reported and police investigations are ongoing.
