That is the punishment?

The Singapore Airlines (SIA) passenger who took the viral video of a man threatening the cabin crew thinks that a verbal warning for the behaviour is too lenient.

The man was escorted off the plane after a confrontation over water, which was recorded by Stomper James.

An SIA spokesman told The Straits Times that a verbal warning was given to the man after the incident.

"I think that is too lenient," said the the Stomper.

"He did clearly mention he disregarded the laws of Singapore and threatened to push over the crew. That was very wrong and unacceptable behaviour. At least they should not have allowed him to enter Singapore and deport him back where he come from. Blacklist him.

"It sends a wrong message to the public that anyone can get away with such behaviour with only a slap on the wrist.

"It could be the SIA management or security officer did not have the full picture of what this guy did on the flight. Maybe they will regret it after looking at all the evidence presented with the video by me and others who shared on TikTok."

The Stomper's video of the incident has since garnered more than 2 million views on TikTok.

The incident happened after the SQ711 flight from Bangkok arrived at Changi Airport Terminal 2 on Tuesday (Nov 8).

"The plane landed and already parked at the arrival gate, but we were told to sit by the captain until the seat belt sign was turned off," James told Stomp.

"Then suddenly the Caucasian guy in the video wanted to leave and was stopped by the crew member who requested that he go back and sit down.

"But he refused and started talking louder, demanding water. He even threatened to push over the crew member. He even said he did not care about the laws of Singapore."

The Stomper said: "This was unacceptable behaviour. He put all the passengers on the plane in danger and wasted all our time getting off the plane since the flight was already delayed."

In the 91-second video, the passenger wearing a baseball cap can be seen standing with his luggage facing off with a male crew member.

After some back and forth, the crew member handed the passenger a small bottle of water.

"After two hours? Wow, thank you. Thank you so much. After two hours, I get water. Wow. That's really great. Thank you so much," said the passenger, who opened the bottle and drank it.

The crew member then stepped aside to let two auxiliary police officers escort the passenger off the plane as the other passengers cheered and applauded.

Other videos were posted on TikTok by someone else showing the same passenger in confrontations with other people on the plane and sitting on the floor in the aisle.

An SIA spokesman told The Straits Times that the passenger was behaving in an unruly manner during the meal service.

“After his multiple requests for alcohol, our cabin crew assessed the situation and politely declined to serve him alcohol to ensure the safety of the other customers on board the flight,” said the spokesman.

"The passenger did not comply with safety instructions from the cabin crew, and caused annoyance and inconvenience to the other passengers."
