Man arrested for causing hurt by dangerous weapon at Lengkok Bahru

A 24-year-old man has been arrested for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon at Lengkok Bahru.

The police said in a statement that they were alerted to a case of assault along Lengkok Bahru on Tuesday (Jan 28) at about 2.50am.

The victim was found with injuries to his hand.

Officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on the same day.

The man will be charged in court on Thursday (Jan 30) with voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapon, which is punishable with a jail term of up to seven years and/or a fine or caning, or any combination of the punishments.

The police added in their statement that they take a serious view of anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement actions against those breaking the law.
