A 46-year-old man was arrested for attacking another man with a knife.
The police said in a statement that they were alerted to a case of assault along Chin Swee Road on July 4 at 7.14pm.
A man had allegedly assaulted a 60-year-old man.
After the attack, the man fled from the scene.
The victim was found with multiple injuries and was believed to have been injured with a knife. He was taken conscious to hospital.
Officers established the culprit's identity and arrested him within two hours of the report.
Preliminary investigations revealed that both men knew each other.
The 46-year-old man will be charged in court with voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapon.
The offence carries up to seven years' jail, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments.
The police said they take a zero-tolerance approach towards such acts of violence and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law.
