Helper risks life and limb to sweep roof of landed property near Holland Road

A woman was concerned to see another woman perched precariously on the roof of a landed property at Greenleaf Place on Aug 31.

In a video shared by the Stomper, the woman is seen using a broom to clean the roof tiles.

With one hand holding the broom, she uses the other to hold onto the roof to prevent herself from falling.

"I saw a helper sweeping the roof, instructed by her boss," said the Stomper.

According to the Ministry of Manpower, employers can be fined up to $10,000 and/or imprisoned up to 12 months, if they fail to ensure the work safety of their maids. They may even be barred from employing a maid in the future.
