A hearse veered across lanes and collided into a ComfortDelGro taxi at Mandai Road towards Upper Thomson Road on Friday (Nov 13).

Stompers Serena and Watson shared photos of the accident that happened at 10.45am.

In the photos, the rear of the taxi appears to be smashed.

A paramedic can also be seen attending to a woman in the backseat of the taxi.

"This is so sad. The deceased should be resting in peace, but this accident happened," Serena shared.

In response to a Stomp query, Ms Tammy Tan, Group Chief Corporate Communications Officer of ComfortDelGro Corporation Limited, said: "Our taxi was travelling straight along Mandai Road when the hearse, which was travelling on the lane in the opposite direction, veered into our taxi's lane and collided into its bonnet."

Ms Tan added that a van travelling behind the taxi could not stop in time and rear-ended into the taxi.

"Our cabby's priority was the female passenger on board and he called the police and the ambulance after checking on her," Ms Tan said.

"The passenger felt unwell and was attended to by paramedics at the scene but was not conveyed to the hospital. Our cabby, on the other hand, has also seen the doctor and is on medical leave.

"We will be assisting both the passenger and our cabby the best we can. We will also assist the police in their investigations."
