Former actress Shim Eun Ha reportedly hospitalised for sleeping pill overdose

Retired South Korean actress Shim Eun Ha was reportedly taken to a hospital, according to local media.

According to online sources, the cause of her hospitalisation Tuesday is reportedly linked to having taken too many sleeping pills, but details remain sketchy.

A hospital official said, "It is true that Shim is hospitalised. But the specific reason cannot be disclosed since it is personal information."

The 44-year-old, who enjoyed immense popularity in the 1990s, is not in critical condition.

Shim, who has starred in hit dramas such as The Last Match (1994) and acclaimed film Christmas In August (1998), retired from showbiz at the height of her fame in 2001.

She has remained out of the public eye ever since marrying lawmaker Ji Sang Wuk in 2005.
