A fire broke out in a storeroom at Sixth Avenue Residences in Bukit Timah on Dec 30.

Stomper Jen shared a video of flames and smoke coming out of the condominium unit as the fire alarm rang.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted at about 2.15pm to the fire in the fifth-floor unit at 168 Sixth Avenue.

The fire, which involved the contents of a store room, was extinguished by SCDF using a hosereel and a compressed air foam backpack.

The police and the condo management evacuated about 40 residents from the block.

Two people were assessed by an SCDF paramedic for smoke inhalation and both were conveyed to Singapore General Hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
