Elephant saunters into Sabah school canteen, panic ensues

The teachers and students at a school in a Sabah had the shock of their lives after an elephant calf sauntered into the school canteen. 

The incident happened at 6am on Thursday (Mar 1). 

Apparently, the line pachyderm had entered the premises in search of food.

A video of the cute mammal foraging in the canteen was captured and uploaded online. 

Beluran district police chief Superintendent V Shivananthan told the New Straits Times that no one was injured during the incident. 

The police chief added that officers have been dispatched to the school to assess the situation and help the school administrators to settle the matter.
