Driver ploughs into motorcyclist and sends him flying at Woodlands junction

A motorcyclist was sent flying after a yellow car ploughed right into him at the junction of Woodlands Avenue 2 and Woodlands Avenue 9 on Dec 1.

A video of the incident was posted on ROADS.sg's Facebook page and showed the moment of impact.

According to the post, the accident happened at about 12.40pm.

In the video, a motorcyclist wearing a light blue T-shirt is seen getting ready to make a right turn. He inches forward and waits for pedestrians to clear the crossing.

However, before he can turn right, the driver of the yellow car comes from the left and drives straight into him causing him to fly off his motorcycle and land a few metres away on the road.

According to the Facebook post, the driver later stopped and exited his car to check on the motorcyclist.

In response to a Stomp media query, a police spokesman said they were alerted to the accident at about 12.40pm.

"The motorcyclist, a 27-year-old man, was conscious when conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital," the spokesman said.

Police investigations are ongoing.
