A container lorry crashed into a road works vehicle in the Central Expressway (CTE) tunnel towards the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) early Tuesday morning (Feb 7).

Stomper David shared a video of the accident taken at 2am.

In the video, the lorry appeared to have hit the truck-mounted attenuator at the back of the road works vehicle and was blocking at least two lanes of the road.

The video also shows the blocked vehicles stuck in the tunnel.

The Stomper said the accident caused a "long jam".

"Luckily, we could pass through the side of the tunnel," he said.

At 2.03am, the Land Transport Authority sent out a tweet to warn motorists to avoid lanes 2 and 3.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to the accident along the CTE towards AYE after Orchard Road exit at about 2am, adding that there were no reported injuries.

The Stomper said: "I am an ex-cop. I have seen scarier accidents."
