SMRT will be taking disciplinary action against one of their bus captains after the bus he was driving ran a red light in Choa Chu Kang.

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared a video he took along Choa Chu Kang Drive on June 20 at 9.11pm.

In the video, SMRT bus service 67 is seen zooming through a red light just seconds before pedestrians were due to cross.

Several people are seen staring after the bus.

In response to a Stomp query, Mr Vincent Gay, deputy managing director of SMRT Buses, said: "The safety of our commuters and other road users is our top priority.

"We investigated the incident and will take disciplinary action against the bus captain.

"We regularly train, and constantly remind, our bus captains to strictly observe all safety and road regulations.”
