A badminton court in Bukit Batok was turned into a hanging rack after a resident used it to dry their sheets.

Stomper J, a resident in the area, alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos she took near Block 441 Bukit Batok West Avenue 8 on July 15.

"I have been seeing this for the past two years," she said.

In response to a Stomp query, a Chua Chu Kang Town Council (CCKTC) spokesman said: "This is the first time laundry has been found hanging at the badminton court.

"We have not received any other feedback regarding this matter.

"The laundry had already been removed from the badminton court when we visited the site on July 19.

"We have placed notices at the nearby blocks and common areas to seek residents’ cooperation in drying their laundry at home.

"We would like to take this opportunity to remind residents that common areas like outdoor or badminton courts are recreational spaces meant for the enjoyment of residents.

"We hope everyone can exercise consideration in the use of common spaces, and keep the estate a clean and pleasant place for all."
