A resident is cluttering up a corridor at Block 149 Serangoon North Avenue 1 even after the town council's intervention.

Stomper J, who lives next door, shared photos of the corridor filled with potted plants, furniture and other items.

"The corridor is pretty narrow yet inconsiderate people like them still choose to clutter the walkway with their personal belongings," said the Stomper.

"Both my husband and I are over 65 years old and we are suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure. Thus we are really concerned if something were to happen to any of us, how will the medics pass through with the stretcher?

"Besides this, we are also worried about the potential fire hazard.

"We have repeatedly visited the town council over the past 2½ years and yet there's still no progress on this matter."

In response to a Stomp query, the Aljunied-Hougang Town Council said it has been engaging the resident regarding the problem of common corridor cluttering.

"Items that had previously cluttered the corridor were cleared with the flat owner’s cooperation." said the town council.

"However, new items subsequently emerged. Hence, the town council is re-engaging the resident and assisting them with clearing the said items.

"The town council would proceed to remove items that are obstructing the common corridor if they are not cleared within the grace period given to the flat owner."
