3rd man involved in fight at Clarke Quay arrested for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons

The third man allegedly involved in the fight at Clarke Quay on Sunday (Aug 13) has been arrested, said the police.

A victim was purportedly slashed on the head after an altercation with three unknown men.

The victim sustained a deep laceration on his forehead and was conscious when taken to the hospital.

After the fight, the three assailants fled.

The police said they were alerted to the fight at about 6.15am.

A knife believed to be used to attack the victim was recovered and seized as a case exhibit.

Two of the men, Steve Yap Kar Xun, 19, and Danesh Sheldrick Mohamad Salim, 20, were arrested on the same day of the incident and were charged in court on Tuesday with affray.

The police previously issued an appeal for information for the whereabouts of the third man.

Officers from the Central Police Division established the whereabouts of the third man and arrested him at Anchorvale Link on Wednesday at about 3.20pm.

He was to be charged in court on Thursday with voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons, which carries an imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
